14 Tips for a Super Productive Study Day

Want to have a super productive study day?

In this blog post, I am presenting to you the 14 ultimate tips to have a super productive study day. So bear with me till the end.

1. Decide the previous night which topics you want to study the next morning :

It is always wise to plan the topics on the previous night because it saves valuable time in the morning. You  should not waste even a little time planning things in the morning.

2. Choose your study hours wisely:

Choose such study hours that suits you best (for example, some people can study more effectively in the mornings ,some people in the nights and some people in the afternoons), when you can sit to study for longer hours without any worries such as doing household chores. You should get done with household chores either before your study session or after your study session.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast :

Eat a hearty, healthy and less time consuming breakfast. I cherish a large bowl of porridge with sliced bananas and almonds and a spoonful of jelly. Breakfast like this keeps you packed with energy for a long time.

4. Choose a quiet study place :

Always choose a quiet place to study, preferably a library if you donot have your own personal room. But if you donot have a library nearby, then inform your family members about your study hours and clearly tell them that you need peace and quiet during those hours.

5. Don't take study breaks unless you need them :

I don't buy the idea of taking a study break every half -an -hour or every one hour or every two hours etc. I strongly believe that you should take a study break when you really need one. The idea of study breaks is to prevent boredom. But if taken unnecessarily, they can greatly hamper efficiency for you may not feel like returning to studying at all that day.

6. Don't remain stuck to a topic or subject :

Studying a particular topic or subject for a long time can slow down your progress. So if you have been studying a topic for one or two hours, then switch to another topic. This will keep away boredom and you will make real progress.

7. Make sure you have everything beside you when you sit to study :

Suppose you decide to study a subject, then before you start, you should have everything related to that subject near you such as notes, books, previous years' question papers etc. If you donot have these things ready with you, you can't make any advance.
Also you should have your stationery (pens, pencils, eraser, bookmarks, highlighters, etc.) near you so that you don't have to get up from your place of study often.

8. Take your water bottle and snacks while studying :

Always take a bottle of water, some snacks and biscuits while studying because we tend to feel hungry and thirsty when studying for a long time. They also serve as great motivation when we start to lose motivation.

9. Avoid mobile phone :

Mobile phone serves as a distraction if you keep it near you during your study session as you are likely to look into your phone for checking your email , for replying to a friend's message on whatsapp ,facebook etc. So keep your phone at a distance while studying.

10. Don't skip lunch or shower :

During a long study day, never think that eating lunch or taking a bath or brushing your teeth are a waste of time. In fact, these things are very important for keeping you motivated for a longer time. When you take care of yourself, you are most likely to be interested and efficient in whatever you do.

11. What to do if you feel exhausted :

I recommend you go for a walk (my personal favorite)  or you can walk in your room or you can watch your favorite cartoon or anything lighthearted or you can listen to music, but beware whatever you choose to do ,don't overdo it, otherwise you won't be able to return to learning mode again.

12. Do include revision in your study hours :

A productive study day also includes revising content that you have already learnt. Because we run the risk of forgetting a chunk of what we have learnt by not including revision in our study sessions.

13. Have conversations with your family :

Do talk to your family about how you are getting along with your studies, about your thoughts and ambitions and also listen to their advice .Mealtime seems like a nice time to have conversations like this.

14. Take a nap :

Sometimes in the afternoon people tend to feel sleepy. It's only normal and you should take a nap and when you wake up you will feel energetic and you can learn topics easily .Many people think that sleeping is a waste of time but taking a nap when you're studying for long will only make you productive .

Give these tips a try. Do share your experience with us. Wish you all the best for your study day😊
